Today we are updating our weebly pages. On my weebly for term 2 we primarily worked on a baseball bat for our project
Today Mr Ramos showed us the table saw. We plan on using it on our bat.
Today we put our bat on the saw contraption. Mr Ramos assisted us in sawing off the edges for a more cylinder esque shape to the bat
We took a picture of the measurements. I did this so I could remember what to set them to at a later time
Today Mr Ramos showed us another tool. Here he uses the air as power to cut metal
Today I used the bandsaw to cut a sliver of the top of the bat off. I did this as the top of the bat got chipped and otherwise wouldnt work
Today we were introduced to the turnmaster commander. We will use this to smoothen out the bat
With a chisel Mr Ramos showed us how to chip away at the bat. He showed us the proper trchniques to insure safety
Today we began work with the turnmaster. We followed Ramos' instructions and made some progress
We continued our work on the turnmaster. We are slowly but surely getting desirable results
We are for the most part finished with the wooden half of the bat. We start working on the base to make it fit with the aluminum half
Today I observed other students. Ramos showed them how to put in concrete foundation for their house
Today we had spare time so we did extra credit. We nailrd in wedges in the center of these cylinders
Today we did extra credit again. This time we drilled in holes in the center of the cylinders
We finished up the bat. Now just sanding it off to mske it super smooth
Here is the other half. We cut the aluminum bat in half using the band saw
We couldnt make the two halves fit. So we sanded away more at the base of the wooden bat
We used this contraption on some metal. This metal would serve as a nail to weld the aluminum bat to the wooden bat
Basically done. Just need to add a few more layers of paint.
Spilled white paint while finishing up the bat. Mopped up the floor and cleaned up
